Drive-In / Drive-Through Racking (DIDTR) Systems

Drive-In / Drive-Through Racking (DIDTR) Systems

2026-02-04

System Design and Structure

High-Density Storage: The system consists of a continuous block of racking that is not divided by aisles.

Vertical Capacity: These structures can reach heights of up to 10 meters.

Support Rails: Unlike traditional systems, DIDTR does not use cross beams, which would block entry. Instead, pallets are supported on continuous rails cantilevered from the uprights at each pallet level.

Space Efficiency: The design is specifically intended to improve warehouse space utilization by allowing forklifts to drive directly into the centre of the rack block.

Operational Use

Inventory Type: This system is specially designed for storing large quantities of "one kind" of goods (high-volume, low-SKU).

Accessibility: Forklifts drive between the uprights on the front face to access, pick up, or deposit pallets.

Common Applications: It is widely used in specialized environments such as cold storage and food and beverage storage.

 Available Configurations

One-Side Drive-In Access is limited to one side, typically following a Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) inventory flow.

Two-Way / Drive-Through Access is available from both the front and back, allowing for improved flow and potentially First-In, First-Out (FIFO) management.
